IBEX Sciences offers scientific and laboratory training instruments in Pakistan. Half Wave and Full Wave Rectifier Circuit Apparatus is designed for physics and electronics training environments to demonstrate how alternating current (AC) is converted into direct current (DC).
Core Circuit Specifications & Functionality:
The apparatus facilitates the study of two primary rectification setups used to transform power waveforms:
- Half-Wave Rectification: Uses a single diode acting as a one-way gate. It only allows one half of the AC cycle (usually the positive half) to pass while blocking the negative half, creating gaps in the output pulse. A step-down transformer is bundled to reduce the input voltage safely so it doesn’t destroy the semiconductor diode.
- Full-Wave Rectification: Employs multiple diodes (either a two-diode center-tapped transformer setup or a four-diode bridge configuration) to utilize both halves of the AC cycle. This provides a continuous stream of DC pulses, yielding double the output frequency and a much higher efficiency rate than a half-wave system.
