The Hema Quick Stain Kit distributed by IBEX SCIENCES is a rapid differential hematology staining system designed for medical and clinical research laboratories. It allows for fast, efficient, and reproducible staining of peripheral blood smears, bone marrow aspirates, and cytological specimens. [1, 2, 3]
Key Features & Overview
- Rapid Results: Delivers high-quality cell morphology differentiation in less than 1 minute. [1]
- Method Compatibility: Combines the visual brilliance and reproducibility of the classic Pappenheim and Wright-Giemsa methods with the rapid processing of a quick dip stain. [1, 2, 3]
- Stable Formulation: Uses highly stable chemical solutions formulated to minimize precipitate formation, ensuring clear nuclear and cytoplasmic contrast. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Primary Applications: Ideally suited for rapid evaluation of cell differentials, fine needle aspirates (FNA), cytospins, and blood smears. [1, 2]
Kit Components
- Fixative Solution: A methanol-based reagent that fixes the air-dried smear to the slide.
- Solution I (Eosinophilic/Acidic Stain): A red buffered solution that stains alkaline components like the cytoplasm and red blood cells.
- Solution II (Basophilic/Alkaline Stain): A blue azur/methylene blue solution that stains acidic components like nuclear chromatin.
- Buffer Solution / Concentrated Rinse: Maintains the optimal pH required to guarantee uniform and balanced staining color tones across batches. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Typical Procedure
- Step 1: Prepare a thin blood smear and allow it to completely air-dry.
- Step 2: Dip the slide into the Fixative Solution for 5–10 seconds.
- Step 3: Immerse the slide into Solution I for approximately 5–10 seconds.
- Step 4: Immerse the slide into Solution II for approximately 5–10 seconds.
- Step 5: Briefly rinse the slide in the buffer solution or deionized water, drain vertically, air-dry, and examine under a microscope. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
